Q: How to replace the intake manifold on 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer?
A: Before removing the Intake Manifold, relieve the fuel pressure and remove the Throttle Body. Next, remove the pcm retaining bolts, then nuts, and the pcm mounting studs and position the pcm out of the way. Remove the sensor ect electric connector , fuel feed , integral clip remove from the wire harness bracket, fuel return pipes from the Fuel Rail. Unfastened the engine wire harness bracket bolt and with it's wires attached set it out of the way. Next, you need to disconnect the voltage sensor electrical connector, crankcase ventilation hose, and vacuum brake booster hose from the Intake Manifold. Remove the generator. The Intake Manifold bolts are engaged in the Intake Manifold so we are required to loosen the Intake Manifold bolts, remove the Intake Manifold. For installation, an Intake Manifold Gasket should be affixed onto the Intake Manifold, then the manifold should be attached to the engine, and fastened by bolts, which should be tightened up to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reinstall the generator, vacuum brake booster hose, and lubricate the insize of the crankcase air ventilation hose with gm p/n 12345884 (Canadian P/N 5728223) or equal to before its installation. Connect the MAP Sensor electrical connector, appropriately locate the engine electrical harness bracket to the Intake Manifold, and install the engine electrical harness bracket bolt that has been tightened in up to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Clip the integral clip to the wire harness bracket, tied the fuel feed and the fuel return pipes to the Fuel Rail, and then tied the ect sensor electrical connector. Mount the pcm mounting studs onto the Intake Manifold, tightening them up 6 n.m (53 lb in), and mount the pcm onto the studs, fastening it with the retaining bolts, tightening them up 8 n.m (71 lb in), and lastly, the retaining nuts tightened 8 n.m (71 lb in). Finally, reattach the Throttle Body and the negative Battery Cable. Check for leaks by activating the on ignition with throttle off for 2 seconds and disable the ignition for 10 seconds before re-enabling on ignition with the throttle off and check for fuel leaks.
