How to replace the lower intermediate steering shaft on 2004 GMC Canyon?

In order to change the lower intermediate Steering Shaft, first make sure of the following procedures: the front wheels are straight ahead and the ignition switch is in the lock position without the key in it. Lock the Steering Column from the hole in the bottom trim steering panel using the j 42640 (J 42640). Lift and support the vehicle, then disconnect the pinch bolt lower intermediate shaft to upper intermediate shaft, and disconnect the plastic insert. Remove the upper intermediate shaft from the lower intermediate shaft, and then take the lower intermediate shaft to the power steering gear input shaft pinch bolt and disconnect the lower intermediate shaft from the power steering gear. Slack off the belts and move the lower intermediate shaft. For installation, remove the car's lower intermediate shaft and reinstall it in place attaching it to the power steering gear. Mount the lower intermediate shaft on to the power steering gear input shaft pinch bolt while tightening it to 45 nm (33 ft. Lbs.). Connect the lower intermediate shaft to the upper intermediate shaft such that the plastic insert flat would be aligned with the flat at the lower intermediate shaft during the pinch bolt installation at the upper intermediate shaft. Finally, install the lower intermediate shaft to the upper intermediate shaft pinch bolt and plastic insert, tightening it onto 23 nm (17 ft. Lbs.), drop the vehicle, and unlock the Steering Column by removing the j 42640 (J 42640) from the access hole.
