Replace the rear disc brake backing plate by releasing the park brake and jacking up the vehicle. Remove the tire, relax the park brake cable and disconnect it from the equalizer Then take off the rotor, the axleshaft, and the park brake shoe. Remove the backing plate and then reinstall in reverse order. Lock the park brake and let the vehicle down.
