2005 Buick Century Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the starter motor on 2005 Buick Century?
A: The Starter motor replacement process requires a beginning step of disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by raising and supporting the vehicle. Start by removing both the front lower air deflector panel together with the torque converter covers. The Starter motor needs the bat terminal nut removal from the solenoid and the positive Battery Cable followed by detachment of the solenoid s terminal nut and solenoid wire. The Starter bolts (1,2) need removal before extraction of the Starter motor. To install the Starter motor engage it to the engine then tighten Starter bolts (1,2) just until clamped before securing them to 43 n.m (32 lb ft). Begin by tightening the solenoid bat terminal nut along with the positive Battery Cable to the Starter motor, followed by the same tightening procedure for the Starter solenoid wire and its s terminal nut to the Starter motor. You should tightly secure the solenoid bat terminal nut at 10 n.m (89 lb in) and the Starter solenoid s terminal nut at 3 n.m (27 lb in). The last step includes reinstalling torque converter covers and front lower air deflector panel and lowering the vehicle before reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
