• Q: How to replace the Turn Signal Switch on 2005 Buick Century?

  A: Start switching the turn signal by turning off the SIR system before taking off the cabin trim elements. Reposition the steering column harness abrasion sleeve while marking the wire connector alignment for later replacement. Take the wire harness assembly off its strap and detach the turn signal and multifunction switch connector from the SIR system coil connector. Use your fingers to take both connectors of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly off from the bulkhead connector. Separate the turning signal and multifunction switch from the assembly by taking out the two pan head screw fasteners. Set the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly on the steering column tilt head assembly so its electrical contact touches the turn signal cancel cam assembly. Instal the screws at and tighten them by turning side screw to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.) and top screw to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.). Set both connectors from the turn signal multifunction switch assembly into the bulkhead connector. Connect the assembly connector to the hardwire of the SIR coil. Put the abrasion sleeve back onto the steering column wire harness assembly then position the wires and connector correctly in their proper places. Place the wire harness assembly into the wire harness strap. Reinstall upper and lower trim covers first and then activate SIR system.
