The first step to disconnect the negative Battery Cable requires writers to record the current radio station selections for the vehicle presets. First fully turn off all lamps and accessories then set the ignition to off mode. Lift the nut holding the negative terminal cable and extract the terminal completely off the battery cell. A wire brush should remove all existing oxidization from the battery terminal contacts and battery cables before reinstalling the negative battery terminal on the battery. Tighten the negative battery terminal nut to 15 n.m (11 lb ft) torques. To finish the installation set the clock then reprogram the radio stations into the digital radio exactly as they were previously.
