  A: To clean out the Throttle Body, remove the air cleaner intake duct, along with the air inlet screen if any. Examine the Throttle Body bore and the throttle valve plate for deposits, throttle valve should be opened to inspect all surfaces. Clean the Throttle Body bore and the throttle valve plate using a clean shop towel with gm top engine cleaner (P/N 1052626) or an equivalent product. Steer clear from the use of immersion cleaners and aggressive solvents on assemblies that involve the throttle position (TP) sensor, idle air control (IAC) valve, and sealed throttle shaft bearings, as these can damage components with seals or o-rings, as well as flush grease out of the non-serviceable throttle shaft bearings. Instead of using wire brushes or scrubbers, which can damage Throttle Body parts, and instead of using cleaners with methyl ethyl ketone that could injure the parts, it is unnecessary for this activity. If there are too much deposits, clean the Throttle Body by disassembling it and turn with cleaning parts cleaning brush but it should not be immersed in any cleaning solvents. After cleaning, reassemble and install the Throttle Body, reinstall air inlet screen if it was removed, follow by the air cleaner intake duct.
