The first step to replace the exhaust crossover pipe requires protective goggles with gloves along with a safe working environment. Start the replacement by taking the air cleaner intake duct as well as the fuel injector sight shield out of the way. You need to remove first the two nuts which hold the power brake booster heat shield to the exhaust crossover before taking off the heat shield. Complete removal of the exhaust crossover requires you to detach its four mounting bolts connecting to exhaust manifolds before pulling out the crossover from the engine compartment. Dispose of the existing seal at this time. Set the new exhaust crossover seal onto the exhaust crossover and guide it into the port of the right Exhaust Manifold. The exhaust crossover needs four bolts installed for attachment to the exhaust manifolds before tightening them to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Safely position the power brake booster heat shield onto the exhaust crossover and fix it with the two nuts while torquing them to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Before completing the installation move both the air cleaner intake duct followed by the fuel injector sight shield back into position.
