    A: To replace the engine front cover, first, note down the tools that you will need: torque angle meter (J 36660-A). Glen by taking away the right Engine Mount Bracket, then drive belt tensioner assembly, crankshaft balancer, crankshaft sensor shield, and crankshaft sensor. The next steps are to remove the Oil Pan to engine front cover bolts along with engine front cover attaching bolts and remove the engine front cover. Check the movement of the Timing Chain, which must not exceed 25mm (1"); also, check the wear on timing sprockets. Clean the mating surfaces for the gasket in cylinder block, and in case the Oil Pan type gasket is too swollen, remove the Oil Pan and replace the gasket. Clean and check the engine front cover prior to installation. Enevelop the engine front cover gasket and the engine front cover by applying sealant gm p/n 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent to the bolt threads. Tighten the engine front cover bolts to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.), and with the torque angle meter (J 36660-A), turn the bolts an additional 40 degrees. After that, secure the Oil Pan to the engine front cover bolts and tighten them to 14 nm (125 inch lbs.). Using a new one, reinstall the drive belt tensioner assembly and do not adjust the crankshaft sensor while reinstalling it; do it followed by: that crankshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor shield, crankshaft balancer and bolt, right Engine Mount Bracket.
