First disconnect the positive cable lead of the battery from the junction block and its corresponding cable from the battery opposite end. Uninstall the Battery Cable conduit from its retaining clip on the conduit while extracting the positive cable from the conduit. Start by taking out the battery positive cable harness from its fir-tree retainer on the pcm bracket then disconnect the positive cable lead from both the Starter and generator . Add the new battery positive cable to its proper position within the engine area of the vehicle. Fix the battery positive cable onto the generator before applying the nut which you must tighten to 9 n.m (80 lb in). The installation of the Starter positive cable requires attachment to its component using the proper nut with sufficient tightening force of 9 n.m (80 lb in). Put the battery positive cable harness through the fir-tree retainer on the pcm bracket and feed the cable into the conduit before attaching the retaining clip. Secure the positive Battery Cable to the junction block through the use of the bolt that you must tighten up to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reinstall the battery positive cable which you must tighten the battery positive bolt to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Afterward, reattach the battery negative cable.
