How to replace the negative battery cable on 2006 Buick Rainier?

Start by disconnecting the battery negative cable as the first step to replace it. Start the replacement by unbolting the harness from the front wheelhouse panel before unbolting it from the shock tower . Move the engine harness from the engine harness bracket first then remove the bolt which secures the harness at the engine block. Before attaching the engine harness to the powertrain control module and instrument panel harness users must disconnect the negative battery cable. Position the engine harness into the engine harness bracket before bolting it to the shock tower with 10 N.m (89 lb in) torque. Use 50 N.m (37 lb ft) torque when tightening the engine block bolt securing the harness while the second bolt securing the harness to the wheelhouse panel needs 10 N.m (89 lb in) torque. Lastly connect the negative battery cable to the battery.
