2006 Buick Rainier Starter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the starter motor on 2006 Buick Rainier?
A: The replacement of Starter motor begins by disconnecting the battery negative cable then disconnecting the vacuum brake booster hose. Initialize the solenoid disconnection process by separating the battery positive lead followed by the process of removing Starter solenoid s-terminal lead nut and then the Starter solenoid s-terminal lead. The removal process starts by removing the two components of the Starter mount bolt (designated as 1 and 2). Then, place the Starter motor into position before attaching it using the Starter motor mount bolt and nut which needs to be tightened to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Connect and fix the positive Battery Cable to the Starter solenoid using a nut then tighten it to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Secure the Starter solenoid s-terminal lead by attaching it to the solenoid and using a nut which should be tightened to 2.3 n.m (20 lb in). The vacuum brake hose must be installed after which the battery negative cable can be connected.
