    A: To replace Starter motor for a 4.2l engine, start by disconnecting the Battery Cable that is negative. Next remove the vacuum brake booster hose. Secondly, remove the positive lead from the solenoid and the nut that connects the s- terminal lead of the Starter Solenoid s-leads while leaving the s-terminal lead. Then, take off the Starter mount bolt and nut (1, 2) to remove the Starter motor. For installation, start with the installation of the Starter motor followed by securing it to the Starter motor mount bolt and nut, tightening it to a torque of 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Connect the positive Battery Cable to the Starter Solenoid and fasten it with a nut that should be tightened to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Then, connect the Starter Solenoid s-terminal lead to the solenoid and tighten this lead with a nut to a torque of 2.3 n.m (20 lb in). Lastly, replace the vacuum brake booster hose and attach the battery negative cable.
