How to replace the rear body control module (BCM) in the endgate on 2005 Buick Rainier?

The first step to install a new BCM in the endgate involves removing the endgate trim panel. Unscrew the two units that hold the rear BCM to the endgate frame and detach its electrical contacts. Attach the new rear BCM to endgate and join all electric wires with the new unit. Make sure to follow Service Precautions in the Fastener Notice before putting the two screws that hold the rear BCM to the endgate. Tighten these screws to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in). Replace the trim panel as the final step.
