  • Q: How to replace the rear Fuse Box on 2005 Buick Rainier?
A: Permission to start the replacement process of the rear electrical center or junction block begins with disconnecting the battery negative cable while practicing standard battery disconnect safety procedures. Owners of chevrolet trailblazer exts or gmc envoy xls need to dismount their left second row seat while chevrolet trailblazer and gmc envoy owners must place their left second row seat into cargo configuration. The rear electrical center cover should be removed followed by disconnecting the junction block battery feed terminal nut so the Body Control Module can be removed from the rear electrical center. The three junction block bolts securing the electrical connectors should be loosened to allow the release of tabs holding it in place to the block base before extracting the junction block solidly from the base. A technician must disconnect four harness connectors from the junction block: instrument panel, mobile telephone, body wiring and headliner harness and console harness. Take out the block base from the floor panel by unlocking the floor stud retaining nuts. To install the block base you should first mount it onto the floor studs before applying retaining nuts which need to be tightened to 10 n.m (88 lb in). You must connect the Instrument Panel Harness Connector along with the mobile telephone harness connector , body wiring harness connector and console harness connector and headliner harness connector to the block base. You must install the junction block onto the block base by seating and fully engaging all retaining tabs before bolting it with 3 fasteners set to 3.5 n.m tension (31 lb in torque). The bcm should be reinstalled to the rear electrical center followed by attaching the battery feed terminal nut to the junction block while tightening it to 10 n.m (88 lb in). After that, replace the rear electrical center cover. To finish the repair process use the left second row seat as a passenger seat for chevy trailblazer and gmc envoy models and then attach the negative Battery Cable i.
