  A: Begin the generator replacement by disconnecting the battery ground cable from the battery system. You must rotate the engine forward to reach the rear generator bolts for removal. First detach the generator b+ terminal nut before removing successively the generator b+ lead and the generator electrical connector. After removing the generator Drive Belt you must take off the front generator bolt together with all rear generator bolts. Move the generator carefully from the generator bracket before securing it above the drive axle. The generator bracket requires removal after you have secured the Drive Belt tensioner. Proceed to separate the power steering pipes from their retainer at the power steering pipe. The fuel injector rail should have its fuel pressure test port (schrader valve) cap removed before repositioning the Power Steering Pump towards the timing chain cover without disturbing the power steering pipes. Pre-installation of generator work requires you to detach the electrical harness from its retaining position at the right fender well then safely put it aside while you extract the generator from the vehicle. Installation requires positioning the generator into the vehicle above the drive axle followed by securing the electrical harness to the right fender well retainer. The Power Steering Pump should be installed to the engine followed by the fuel pressure test port (schrader valve) cap on the fuel injector rail and finally power steering pipes from the power steering pipe retainer. Install the generator bracket first then the Drive Belt tensioner to complete generator placement above the drive axle before fastening to the generator bracket. First install the Drive Belt before connecting the generator electrical connector followed by the generator b+ lead and tightening the generator b+ terminal nut to 13 n.m (115 lb in). Introduce the engine in a backward rotation before tightening down the engine mount strut bracket bolts and returning the battery negative ground cable to the battery.
