    Q:
How to replace the alternator on Buick Rendezvous? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the Alternator first do disconnect the battery ground negative cable so that it come-off from the battery. Rotate and secure the engine towards the front in order to access the rear generator bolts. Loosen the terminal nut of the generator b+lements to free it from generator b+ lead and generator electrical connector. Following that take away the drive of the generator, after that separate the generator front bolt and the rear bolts. Carefully lift the generator out of the generator bracket and prop it up above the drive axle. Unbolt the Drive Belt tensioner, take off the generator bracket, and then disconnect the power steering pipes from the power steering pipe retainer. Unscrew the fuel pressure test port (schrader valve) cap from the fuel injector rail making sure not to disconnect the power steering pipes from the Power Steering Pump. Tier a new chassis unnecessarily. Pull out the electrical harness from the retainer on the right fender well and lay it aside before you can finally remove the generator from the vehicle. The process of installation involves the placing of the generator in a position above the driver axle, and installing back to the vehicle. Reinstall the electrical harness in the retainer on the right fender well, then attach the Power Steering Pump to the engine and fuel pressure test port (schrader valve) cap to the fuel injector rail. Re-install the power steering pipes from the power steering pipe retainer, accordingly, add in the generator bracket and the Drive Belt tensioner. Secure the generator to generator bracket and tighten generator front bolt, and also generator bolts at 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Then, reconnect the Drive Belt, the generator electrical one, the generator b+ lead, and the generator b+ terminal nut and tighten it up to 13 n.m(115 lbin). Reposition the engine backward and screw on the engine mount strut bracket bolts before finally attaching the battery ground (negative) cable to the battery.
