To replace left Catalytic Converter (LP1, LY7), start by stripping the left bank exhaust manifold heat shield and Catalytic Converter nuts. Lift and support the vehicle, before you remove the plugs of the 2 oxygen sensors on both catalytic converters as well as the muffler pipe on each. Take off the Exhaust Pipe to right bank Catalytic Converter nuts and gently remove the Catalytic Converter with the seal/heat shield and Oxygen Sensor from the exhaust manifold. Remove the Oxygen Sensor from the Catalytic Converter. For installation, one must staple the Oxygen Sensor on the Catalytic Converter ensuring to examine the Catalytic Converter seal/heat shield sealing surface to replace if worn out/shoddy.
