The process starts with right bank exhaust manifold heat shield removal followed by right-sided Catalytic Converter nuts removal for both lp1 and ly7. To commence the replacement process, lift the vehicle while you disconnect both the Exhaust Pipe and Oxygen Sensor electrical connector from the left and right side catalytic converters. Start by removing Exhaust Pipe to right bank Catalytic Converter nuts followed by removing the Catalytic Converter with its seal/heat shield and Oxygen Sensor from the exhaust manifold. The following step requires removal of the Oxygen Sensor component from its position on the Catalytic Converter. First connect the Oxygen Sensor to the Catalytic Converter before installing the Catalytic Converter seal/heat shield while checking for any damage or wear in the sealing surface that requires replacement. Place the exhaust manifold on top of the Catalytic Converter before tightening the fasteners to secure it. You should first connect the Oxygen Sensor electrical connector before adding the exhaust pipes with their matching nuts to both catalytic converters. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 22 nm (16 ft. Lbs.). Check the Catalytic Converter's seal condition then replace it when necessary. Lower the vehicle and perform a 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) torque specification on the Catalytic Converter nuts before putting back the right bank exhaust manifold heat shield.
