  A: Vehicle elevation and support must happen before removing the exhaust system for propeller shaft replacement work in automatic transmission vehicles. Unfasten all bolts along with the nuts and washers that link the propeller shaft coupler to the transmission flange while maintaining coupler attachment to the propeller shaft. Please mount the support bearing on the support device and clean the threads with denatured alcohol and use threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) on the propeller shaft-to-flange bolt until it cures for 10 minutes. Install the propeller shaft coupler-to-differential flange washers and bolts followed by the nuts while tightening them to 85 nm (63 ft. Lbs.). The process is repeated on the front propeller shaft coupler where an installation takes place to the transmission flange before tightening the bolts with washers and nuts through application of threadlocker. You must install the center support bearing to the vehicle underbody where the shim packs maintain their original placement followed by tight bolt torquing to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). After removing the support device replace the exhaust system then lower the vehicle.
