  A: Start the automatic transmission propeller shaft replacement by lifting the supported vehicle and then stripping the exhaust system. First disconnect the propeller shaft coupler-to-transmission flange bolts together with their nuts and washers but keep the coupler securely attached to the propeller shaft. Make sure the front propeller shaft extends to the rear while installing the coupler on the transmission flange. Use a clean method for the threads followed by threadlocker application before fastening the front propeller shaft coupler-to-transmission flange bolts with washers and nuts while torqueing to the specified value. You must install the center support bearing to the vehicle underbody and maintain its original shim pack positions while tightening the support bearing bolts to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Remove the support device before reinstalling the exhaust system and lowering the vehicle.
