    A: To replace the Thermostat housing (LP1, LY7) one should first disconnect the hose from the Heater Core, then to remove the Thermostat and Thermostat housing bolts. Then, remove the Thermostat housing and the heater pipes, hoses, and bolts. Carefully scrap the sealing surfaces using a plastic gasket scraper, such as gasket remover (J 28410) or similar tool. For installation, assemble the heater pipes and hoses to the Thermostat house, install a new gasket. Tighten the Thermostat housing bolts halfway to hold the gasket in place prior to tightening the Thermostat housing with the heater pipes, hoses and gasket and then bolts. Make sure to apply the pressure on the Thermostat housing of 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Lastly, start fitting the Thermostat, and then reconnecting the heater hoses back to the Heater Core.
