How to replace the negative battery cable on 2005 Cadillac DeVille?

When changing battery negative cables always use original-type cables with the appropriate diameter and length and install the cable in the same pathway as before. The replacement procedure starts with disconnecting the battery negative cable first then moving to disconnect the body harness from this clip and again disconnecting the cable from the Floor Pan. The removal of battery negative cables should be performed on the vehicle. When installing connect the body end of the battery negative cable to the Floor Pan then secure the bolt to 36 n.m (27 lb ft). The installation of cable eyelets requires they be positioned flat down and facing the up direction with their crimped sides showing. To finish the procedure, connect the body harness connector and then attach the battery negative cable last.
