2005 Cadillac DeVille Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the right engine mount bracket on 2005 Cadillac DeVille?
A: The right front wheel needs removal before starting to replace the right Engine Mount bracket while raising and supporting the entire vehicle. A correct jack should support the engine assembly and you must remove the nut which attaches the right Engine Mount to its respective bracket. The engine drop will happen after lowering the jack slightly so remove the nut holding the Power Steering Hose to the right Engine Mount bracket. Begin by removing the right Engine Mount bracket from the engine through four bracket bolts then taking the right Engine Mount bracket out of position. Install the right Engine Mount bracket by placing it on the engine then bolt it with four 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) torques. Screw and tighten the power steering pressure hose nut that connects to the right Engine Mount bracket at a torque value of 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). Install the right Engine Mount onto its bracket while elevating the engine above and torque the nut to 80 nm (59 ft. Lbs.). Full interruption comes when you remove the engine support jack followed by restoring the right front wheel then lowering your vehicle.
