  A: The first step to replace the rear object sensor requires removal of the rear bumper fascia. First push the housing locking tabs before removing the rear object sensor from its position. Close the spring by pressing to disconnect it from the housing while opening the tabs on the housing will allow removal of the entire unit. Remove the rear object sensor bezel from the surface of the rear fascia. The new rear object sensor needs to be painted before installation but avoid resin applications on existing sensors. Verify the non-ferrous metal paint thickness with a suitable gauge until it reaches no more than 6 mm. Position the rear object sensor keyhole correctly, then activate the rear object sensor bezel to rest smoothly on the fascia surface. Screw the housing into cutouts at the back side of the fascia before adding the spring to the housing so its spring keys will occupy the upper and lower positions. Use the decoupling ring then place the sensor inside the housing while the connector faces the passenger side of the fascia and press its tabs into the cutouts of the housing. Reinstall the rear bumper fascia while connecting its electrical connector.
