How to replace the rear Parking Assist Distance Sensor on Cadillac SRX?

A technician should start the rear object sensor replacement by removing the rear bumper fascia. The locking tabs on the housing need to be lifted before removing the rear object sensor from its position. When the housing tabs release you should detach the spring from the housing before you take out the housing altogether. One should start by removing the rear object sensor bezel which is attached to the rear fascia. During installation the new rear object sensor must receive paint treatment but the sensors that were previously finished should remain untouched. A gauge measuring non-ferrous metals should be used to check paint thickness on the part so the measurement stays below 6 mm. Use the key and keyhole to position the bezel until it sits flush against the fascia. Position the housing inside the cutouts on the bezel through the back fascia side after which install the spring onto the housing by placing the spring keys at the upper and lower portions of the housing. The decoupling ring installation begins by placing it on the sensor before sensor insertion occurs with the connector pointed toward the passenger side fascia. Afterward, press the sensor tabs into the housing cutouts. The electrical connector should be connected before reinstalling the rear bumper fascia.
