How to Safely Remove and Install the Ignition Lock Cylinder on Cadillac SRX?

The replacement process for ignition switch lock begins with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Push your awl through the lower area of the steering column trim cover access hole and operate the release button by tapping with your awl while the ignition switch is in the start position. Push the ignition switch to run position before you remove the Ignition Lock Cylinder. During installation position the locking tab slot from the lock module onto the Ignition Lock Cylinder positioning tab before pushing the lock cylinder into place until the locking tab locks into the module. Reconnect the negative Battery Cable to complete the procedure.
