How to replace the instrument panel (I/P) dimmer switch on Cadillac SRX?

The first step to changing the I/P dimmer switch is to take out the front overhead console. After that, remove the screws that hold the I/P dimmer switch to the overhead console and disconnect the electrical connector prior to taking the switch off. When reinstalling, attach the electrical connector andput the I/P dimmer switch screws into the overhead console,tightening each to 2 N.m (18 lb in), as explained in theFastener Notice from the Service Precautions. Lastly, put the front overhead console back onto the vehicle.
