2005 Chevrolet Blazer Ignition Coil Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the ignition coil on 2005 Chevrolet Blazer?
A: The air cleaner assembly along with its nut must be unscrewed prior to disconnecting electrical connectors followed by removing the Ignition Coil wire from the Distributor. Begin by detaching the accelerator cable bracket and eliminate the studs that connect the bracket and Ignition Coil to the Intake Manifold before uninstalling these components. Use a drill with punch tool to remove the two rivets securing the Ignition Coil to the bracket before removing the coil from the bracket. Use the two screws from your replacement coil kit to attach the bracket to the Ignition Coil and follow by mounting the Ignition Coil and bracket onto the Intake Manifold using studs tightened to 11 n.m. Install the accelerator control bracket back on while setting its nuts and studs to 12 n.m (8.9 lb ft). Reconnect the Ignition Coil wire while maintaining its distance from the dip stick and other parts to avoid long-term grounding or shorting. After that secure the air cleaner assembly back into position.
