2005 Chevrolet Blazer Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2005 Chevrolet Blazer?
A: Begin by raising the vehicle before replacing the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor. Steering linkage shield mounting bolts must be removed before the steering linkage shield when this vehicle has the underbody shield package. You should disconnect the ckp sensor harness connector then remove the mounting bolt which allows you to take out the ckp sensor. There are two steps to installation: apply clean engine oil on the ckp sensor o-ring before placing the sensor into position and check for complete seating before torquing the mounting bolt to 9 n.m (80 lb in). After connecting the ckp sensor harness, reattach the steering linkage shield using mounting bolts that should be tightened to 33 n.m (24 lb ft). Perform the ckp system variation learn procedure when the vehicle is at low position.
