How to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2005 Chevrolet Blazer?

Engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor replacement begins by turning off the ignition after loosening air cleaner wing nuts and ducting and moving the intake assembly away from the target area. The cooling system must drain below ect sensor height before workers remove its harness connector and uninstall the sensor. Installation requires gm p/n 12346004 sealer or equivalent on threaded parts before inserting the ect sensor into the engine where torque must reach 20 n.m (15 lb ft). The ect sensor harness connector must be connected followed by cooling system refilling and the wing nuts should be tightened for the air cleaner outlet duct assembly. Connect the negative Battery Cable as the last step.
