How to replace the thermostat in a 2.2L - L61 engine on 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier?

First, if your vehicle has an automatic transmission, remove the Exhaust Manifold in order to replace the Thermostat for a 2.2l - l61 engine. Drop the cooling system and take off Thermostat Housing to water pump feed pipe screws and feed pipe. Remove the old Thermostat and replace it with the new one. Reconnect the Thermostat Housing to the water pump feed pipe making sure that the bolts are installed in accordance with the fastener notice in service precautions by tightening them up to 10 nm (89 in/lobs). If the vehicle is equipped with the automatic tranny, reinstall the Exhaust Manifold. Finally, fill the cooling system.
