How to replace the air filter on 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt?

Begin replacement of the air filter by disconnecting the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor harness connector followed by loosening the air filter assembly clamp and removing the air filter assembly clips. Pull the upper air filter cover to access the lower air filter housing where you will need to remove the filter. Inspect the filter for contamination by dust and dirt and water contamination. Replace if replacement is necessary. To install the air filter, place it within the lower air filter housing while you install and lock the upper air filter cover onto the air filter housing cover. After attaching the air filter resonator to its place on the air filter assembly make sure the air filter intake duct clamp reaches 5 N.m (44 lb in) of torque. Complete the process by reconnecting the IAT sensor harness connector.
