2005 Chevrolet Colorado Fuel Injector Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace a fuel injector on 2005 Chevrolet Colorado?
A: Start the Fuel Injector replacement process by taking out the Fuel Rail assembly followed by detachment of the Fuel Injector harness connector from the Fuel Injector. You should pull the Fuel Injector from the Fuel Rail after you separate the retainer clip and then discard both the retainer clip and o-ring seals (2, 4) present on the Fuel Injector ends. The selection of the new Fuel Injector depends on both the part number identity and the 4 digit date code which includes manufacturing month and day and year and shift information. Install new Fuel Injector o-ring seals (2, 4) by applying gm p/n 9981704 lubrication then add a new retainer clip while positioning the seals onto each end of the Fuel Injector. Place the Fuel Injector into the Fuel Rail injector socket so its electrical connection points towards the exterior and make sure the retainer clip extends to the socket flange. To finalize the process reinstall the Fuel Rail assembly after connecting the Fuel Injector harness connector to its corresponding port.
