In order to change the Shift Cable, the vehicle needs to be in park and in the air. Dislodge the shift cable to the lever of transmission range, and remove the retainer. Gain access to the shift cable by taking off the left hinge pillar trim panel and carpet. Redo the process of disconnection and install the new cable and fit it well.
