2005 Chevrolet Corvette Clutch Slave Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Clutch Slave Cylinder on 2005 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The first step to replace the clutch actuator cylinder starts by disconnecting the car's negative Battery Cable. The installer should remove the left instrument panel (I/P) lower insulator panel before extracting the clutch master cylinder rod retainer along with rod from the clutch pedal. Lift the vehicle in position before providing adequate suspension. Disengage the clutch actuator cylinder hose from its retaining clip position at the engine's rear section. Using the hydraulic clutch line separator (J 36221), push down the white circular release ring on the actuator hose until tension is released while lightly tugging on the master cylinder hose to disconnect both ends securely while keeping them away from dirt and damage. The process starts by disassembling the vehicle's driveline support assembly with transaxle before the removal of the mounting bolts from the clutch actuator cylinder. Finally, separate the clutch actuator cylinder from the driveline support assembly when all steps are completed. Involve the clutch actuator cylinder with the driveline support assembly and tighten mounting bolts to 12 nm (106 inch lbs.) torque. Reinstall the driveline support assembly and transaxle to the vehicle but first join the clutch actuator cylinder hose to the clutch master cylinder hose making sure quick connect fittings are properly engaged. First check the hose for winding and kinks before mounting the clutch actuator cylinder hose on its fitting at the engine rear. Next lower the vehicle and reinsert the clutch master cylinder rod back into the clutch pedal before tightening the rod retainer. Replace the left i/p lower insulator panel then reapply the negative Battery Cable by tightening its bolt to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.). Program the transmitters afterwards you must perform a hydraulic system bleed of the clutch.
