2006 Chevrolet Corvette Clutch Slave Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Clutch Slave Cylinder on 2006 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The first step to replace the clutch actuator cylinder starts with negative Battery Cable disconnect and left instrument panel lower insulator panel removal. Begin by removing the Clutch Master Cylinder rod retainer and Clutch Master Cylinder rod from the clutch pedal followed by the windshield washer solvent container removal. First raise and support the vehicle before you take off the clutch actuator cylinder hose from two clips. The first clip is under the Brake Master Cylinder and the second one is on the Clutch Hose connection. Separate the Clutch Hose from the Clutch Master Cylinder connection by protecting both end couplings from dirt and technical harm. Lower the vehicle onto the hoist while keeping it secure before you remove the Clutch Master Cylinder reservoir from its bracket. Rotate the Clutch Master Cylinder 45 degrees clockwise until it releases from the dash panel. The technician extracts the Clutch Master Cylinder device and its reservoir section from the operating vehicle. You should properly position the Clutch Master Cylinder with reservoir before dash panel insertion while maintaining a 45-degree angle and counterclockwise rotation for proper panel attachment. Install the Clutch Master Cylinder reservoir back into its bracket position and fasten the windshield washer solvent container in place. When the vehicle is elevated secure the Clutch Hose connection retaining clip in place. Connect the quick connect fittings of the clutch actuator cylinder hose with the Clutch Master Cylinder hose by pushing both ends together followed by the pull-back verification of fitting engagement. Thoroughly inspect the clutch hydraulic hoses for kinks and twists before fitting the clutch actuator cylinder hose to its retaining clip below the Brake Master Cylinder. Next lower the car and fit the Clutch Master Cylinder rod to the pedal before using the Clutch Master Cylinder rod retainer for stabilization. Replace the left instrument panel lower insulator panel before connecting the negative Battery Cable. Secure the negative cable bolt with 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) torque. The transmitters must be programmed followed by hydraulic system bleeding of the clutch.
