The j 24319-b universal steering linkage puller will help detach the outer tie rod assembly from the Steering Knuckle before removing the outer tie rod assembly from the inner tie rod assembly. The outer tie rod assembly should be connected to the inner tie rod assembly but the jam nut needs to remain untightened. You should mount and fasten the outer tie rod assembly to the Steering Knuckle and apply 30 nm torque (22 ft-lbs) with an additional 120 degrees of rotation while verifying 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 threads extend past the nylon washer.
