The replacement of the maxx Fuel Level Sensor starts with Fuel Pump module assembly removal. Start by releasing the Fuel Level Sensor wiring harness from its molded-in tab on the pump module bowl before you disconnect the electrical connector that belongs to the Fuel Level Sensor from the pump module cover. Downward pressure on the retaining tab loosens the sensor to move aside from the pump module before complete removal. The new Fuel Level Sensor needs to be placed into the slots on the Fuel Pump module bowl before inserting the retaining tab into its respective slot. Connect the Fuel Level Sensor electrical connector to the pump module cover before installing the wiring harness to the molded-in tab on the pump module bowl. After that, reinstall the Fuel Pump module assembly.
