  • Q: How to replace the canister purge valves on 2005 Chevrolet SSR?
    A: Start the evap canister purge solenoid valve replacement process by unfastening the engine sight shield and mounting bracket and afterward removing the retaining bolt of the engine wiring harness bracket. Disconnect both the electrical generator connector and the two evap pipes that connect to the evap purge solenoid. The evap purge solenoid electric connection should then be disconnected after removing the surge solenoid from the fuel rail mounting bracket. To perform installation reconnect the surge solenoid electrical connector then position the surge solenoid onto the fuel rail mounting bracket. Position the engine wiring harness on the Intake Manifold and reinstall the retaining nut while tightening it to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Connect evap pipes to their surge solenoid position. Reinstall both the engine sight shield and mounting bracket as the final step of installation.
