An engine Flywheel needs a transmission together with a clutch assembly removed before its replacement. Begin by removing the Flywheel bolts before pulling out the Flywheel while checking for damage in that component. The new Flywheel lacks an alignment pin and will not initially touch the crankshaft flange since the engine Flywheel bolts will draw it toward contact. To install the Flywheel start by placing it first followed by inserting the bolts which should receive threadlock gm p/n 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent substance on their threaded portion. Start by applying torque sequence to engine Flywheel bolts which requires 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) initially and 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) next and 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.) for final tightening. Reinstallation of the clutch assembly and transmission reattachment needs to happen before replacing the transmission.
