2005 Chevrolet SSR Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the radiator hose outlet on 2005 Chevrolet SSR?
A: Drain your cooling system before removing the air cleaner assembly to start changing the Radiator outlet hose. Use the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to loosen the Radiator outlet hose clamp at the Thermostat Housing followed by hose separation from the Thermostat Housing. First raise and support the vehicle before repeating hose clamp plier (J 38185) usage to loosen the Radiator outlet hose clamp at the Radiator and disconnecting the hose from its position. Disengage the Radiator outlet hose clamp alongside hose removal. Check that the reference marks on both hoses and Radiator line up prior to installation because improper alignment might lead to Radiator fitting stress resulting in damage. Apply clean coolant lubrication to new hose openings first before connecting the Radiator outlet hose to the Radiator. Begin by engaging tension on the Radiator outlet hose clamp at the Radiator before lowering the vehicle to connect the hose to the Thermostat Housing. Before reinstalling air cleaner components you must tension the Radiator outlet hose clamp at the Thermostat Housing then add coolant to the cooling system.
