2006 Chevrolet SSR Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the inlet radiator hose on 2006 Chevrolet SSR?
A: Draining the cooling system and removing the air cleaner assembly are the starting points to change the Radiator inlet hose. First disconnect the Radiator inlet hose from the Radiator through the use of hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Then loosen the clamp tension on the Radiator inlet hose at the Radiator. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) should be used to disengage tension on the clamp for the Radiator inlet hose at the engine before completely removing the hose. When attaching the hoses to their respective components, align the reference marks to stop Radiator fitment stress that might result in breaking or cracking of the Radiator. Apply clean coolant inside the new hose before placing the Radiator inlet hose onto the engine and connecting it. Secure the Radiator inlet hose clamp at the engine using hose clamp pliers (J 38185) then attach the hose to the Radiator while tightening the same clamp at the Radiator with hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Reinstall both the air cleaner assembly before completely filling the cooling system.
