2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the vacuum brake booster on 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer?
A: You need to activate the parking brake and disconnect the master cylinder before you begin working on the vacuum Brake Booster replacement. Detach the vacuum hose from both the engine and the booster before taking out the left closeout/insulator panel. Unbolt the Pushrod retainer from the brake pedal pin before removing both the stop lamp switch and Pushrod from the same pin. Unscrew vacuum booster fixing nuts and set aside enough space for the generator plus gasket. Start by putting the gasket and vacuum booster assembly in position. After that, thread in the vacuum booster mounting nuts at 36 nm (27 ft. Lbs.). Put the stop lamp switch on the Pushrod then assemble it to the brake pedal pin. The Pushrod retainer slides right into place. Reattach the left insulator panel and link the vacuum hose to both boosters and the power unit before installing the valve unit.
