2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer?
A: Begin by first turning off the engine and the negative battery terminal should be disconnected. When performing a battery disconnect, precautions should be followed. Drain the coolant down below the ect sensor, and then remove the ect sensor electrical connector. Take off the Drive Belt and thegenerator before carefully uninstalling the ectsensor. For installation, if the original sensor or another sensor with no sealant is used, apply thread sealer (P/N 12346004 or equivalent) as it is the ect sensor being installed. Tighten ect sensor by 16 n.m (12 lb ft) and join the ect electrical connector. Replace the generator and Drive Belt, connect the negative battery connection, and add the engine coolant. Make sure that replacement parts are correct part number for its application and the right torque values are garbage to avoid damage.
