The first step for replacing Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 1 includes disconnecting the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector. Secure HO2S removal with Heated Oxygen Sensor Wrench (J 39194-B). Before installing the heated oxygen sensor you must apply a specific anti-seize compound made of graphite-based fluid with glass beads to its threads. Service sensors arrive with this compound already used during production. Using anti-seize compound (P/N 5613695) you should treat sensor threads prior to reinstalling the same oxygen sensor. After applying the anti-seize compound to heated oxygen sensor threads, use the Heated Oxygen Sensor Wrench (J 39194-B) to install the heated oxygen sensor and tighten the HO2S to 41 N.m (30 lb ft). The final step is to connect the HO2S electrical connector.
