  A: The first step of replacing the oil level indicator and tube requires users to remove the A/C line bracket nut followed by detaching the A/C line bracket from the oil level indicator tube stud. First you should detach the O2 sensor electrical connector from the oil level indicator bracket before pulling out the oil level indicator tube stud. Next remove the indicator from the tube followed by taking out the tube from the block. Place the engine block oil level indicator tube before applying GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) sealant to the oil level indicator tube stud threads. Tighten the oil level indicator tube stud to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) following the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Install the A/C line bracket onto the oil level indicator tube then fasten the nut by tightening it to 7 Nm (6 inch lbs.). After reconnecting the O2 sensor electrical connector you can install the oil level indicator into the tube.
