2005 Chevrolet Uplander Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Replace Coil Springs with Independent Rear Suspension on 2005 Chevrolet Uplander?
A: To replace the coil spring with independent rear suspension, lift and support the vehicle. Take off the wheel and tire assemblies, along with Brake Calipers, parking brake cable mounting bracket, brake caliper mounting bracket. Pull the abs electrical connector off and delete its mounting bracket. Support the lower Control Arm with a utility jack and remove stabilizer link from the lower Control Arm. Use the j 41820 Ball Joint/stud separator (J 41820) to break out the Ball Joint from the knuckle, and use the utility jack to lower the lower Control Arm to relieve coil spring tension before removing the coil spring. At install, you will have positioned the new coil spring and lifted the lower Control Arm using utility jack to load the suspension. Because the vehicle stabilization row was partially damaged, you should reconnect the Ball Joint to the knuckle using the j 41820(J 41820), replace the stabilizer link in the lower Control Arm, and help stabilize theabyrinth.lower adapt with the utility jack. Mount the abs electrial connector mounting bracket and attach abs electrical connector, mount the brake caliper mounting bracket, parking brake cable mounting bracket, and Brake Calipers. Lastly, refit the wheel and tire assembly and bring down the vehicle.
