    Q:
How to service and repair the front coil springs and shock absorber on Chevrolet Uplander? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by retrieving the strut from the car in order to service and repair it. Mount the strut in strut spring compressor, j 45400, guarantee that spring is compressed whenever the strut can move freely. Press the turning of the spring compressor forcing screw until the coil spring is compressed. Torquing device up to 45 torx(R), remains holding the strut shaft while using strut rod nut socket (J 42991) to remove the upper strut mount nut. After the strut is removed from the strut spring compressor (J 45400), it's loose the compressor forcing screw so that the upper strut mount and coil spring can be pulled out. Make use of the assembly; mount the coil spring and the upper strut mount to the strut spring compressor (J 45400), compress the coil spring for the second time and mount the strut in the coil spring and upper strut mount. Loosely fit the strut retaining nut, take hold the strut shaft and screw the upper strut mount nut using j 42991 strut rod nut socket (45 TORX®) into 85 n.m (63 lb ft). Lastly, take the strut off from the strut spring compressor (J 45400) and replace the strut on the vehicle.
