Q: How to replace the front steering knuckle on 2005 Chevrolet Venture?
A: To change the front Steering Knuckle, start by lifting and supporting properly the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel assembly. Next you remove the front wheel drive shaft bearing and the front lower control arm ball stud. Detach the outer Tie Rod End from the Steering Knuckle using the universal steering linkage puller (J 24319-B). Secure the strut to the knuckle and unbolt the strut on the knuckle and take the knuckle out of the vehicle. For installation, mount the knuckle again to the vehicle and instal the bolts, linking the strut to the knuckle and make sure to tighten them up to 123 nm (90 lb-ft). Re-join the outer tie rod to the Steering Knuckle, attach the front lowermost control arm screw to the knuckled and rere-install the front wheel drive shaft bearing. Lastly, reinstall the tire and wheel assembly and bring down the vehicle.
